The Treehouse

Mobart Ben recently completed the design of a highly original children’s bedroom, creating an additional volume to the existing structure of the building. The home is located in the Padua plains, and at the client’s request, the bedroom was designed as a treehouse to make it as cozy as possible.

To achieve this atmosphere, larch wood was chosen for the side claddings, while the back wall—featuring a large window opening onto the greenery—was made with cirmolo shingles. Cirmolo (Swiss pine) is a light, soft wood that is easy to work with and has been an integral part of Dolomite craftsmanship for centuries. Here, it has been used in its raw finish, allowing the natural essential oils and balsamic resins to release their pleasant scent, creating an environment that feels incredibly natural and beneficial to well-being.

For the custom-made furniture, designed entirely by the company, brushed fir wood was chosen—some pieces in a natural finish and others in a whitewashed finish. The 140 cm beds are mounted on wheels with a rear track, allowing for easy movement and convenient bed-making. Their headboards double as bookshelves and are connected by a storage bench, the perfect spot to sit and read a good book under the natural light from the window.

Two uniquely shaped wooden trees, each featuring a birdhouse that houses integrated reading lights, add personality to the space, making it truly one of a kind. At the foot of the beds, a large desk with a wheeled drawer unit provides a dedicated space for studying, while additional storage elements include flip-door cabinets and open shelves.

Another standout feature of this meticulously designed space is the fir wardrobe with sliding doors and a distinctive recessed handle that mimics the shape of a tree branch.

This project is entirely designed and custom-crafted by Mobart Ben, where design plays a key stylistic role, and every element—including the furniture structures—is made of wood, ensuring both quality and a healthy living environment.
